iCody WiFi Barcode Reader

in

The first REAL barcode scanner for iOS since April 2010 - All OTHERS ARE JUST COPIES!

Finally you can replace your boring USB barcode scanner by an astonishing iPhone and iPad App. With iCody you are able to scan a wide range of barcode types and transmit them instantly to any computer iCody is currently connected. No server in between like other Apps do - pure and directly.*

And finally iCody supports literally any OS: Mac, Windows, Linux, whatever. Read more here.

Using the new built-in WebScan functionality you can launch any website you like and scan into form fields - directly within iCody. Or "beam" codes from the barcode list into the field. This even works with secured (HTTPS) and websites that needs login data. WebScan is a great solution for professional use with your own in-house website e.g. for your warehousing.

The included callback functionality lets iCody interact with other applications and even websites using the icody:// URL scheme. So you could set up a Filemaker GO database and use iCody as an external scanner - also in combination with Linea Pro or Mobilogics. Read more here.

Guides can be found in the "iCody Infos" section at the bottom of this page.

Even offline without any connected computer iCody works. The deciphered barcodes are saved in a Barcode List and can be transmitted afterwards - or exported via iTunes, or eMailed, one, some, all together. This is best practice for doing batch scanning of a big number of Barcodes: Scan all barcodes – anywhere and anytime – and send them to the Mac whenever you want and however you like.

Supported Barcodes:
(built-in camera)

EAN-8,
EAN-13,
UPC-A,
UPC-E,

Code 39,
Code 93,
Code 128,
ISBN,

Interleaved 2 of 5,
GS1 Databar,
QRCode (2D-Barcode).

iCody does not contain any connection to shopping portals and does not provide any pricing information or product comparisons. iCody is a professional tool which makes a hardware barcode reader obsolete.

iCody supports of the the additionally available external Laser Barcode Scanners Linea Pro by IPC and the iPDT380 and iScan coming from Mobilogics. Both Barcode Scanner series are completely supported by iCody and replace scanning with the built-in camera (iPod touch compatible only!). The combination of iCody and Linea Pro or iPDT380/iScan turns your iPhone, your iPad or your iPod touch into a professional High-End Laser Barcode Scanner which is thanks to the integrated akku pack of the Linea Pro a real marathon runner. All features of iCody are supported!

Additional information regarding Linea Pro and where to order can be found on the Homepage of IPC Peripherals or on the Homepage of Mobilogics.

When using the built-in Camera iCody needs the autofocus capabilities of the iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 and works only limited on iPhone 2G/3G and iPod touch 4G or iPad 2. The scanning results on these devices can be enhanced using the optionally available optical lens (macro lens); more information here. Needs iOS 4 or higher.

* For instant transfer needs a WiFi connection of both iOS device and stationary computer. Needs any VNC server software for PC, Linux (included in Mac OS X) or the free “Thetis” application for Mac OS X 10.6 or higher.

Scan window

Since version 1.5 you can crop the scan area to be able to scan more precisely even barcodes which are positioned close to each others.

In case of bad lightened environment, the LED torch switches on automatically. You can also switch the torch on or off manually.

Barcode list

The barcode list shows the sent (transmitted to the Mac) and unsent barcodes. One can select one or several barcodes and re-send, send by eMail or delete them.

Barcode detail view

The detail view shows not only a picture of the scanned barcodes but also the scan date and time, the barcode type, the contained data and the scan coordinates. The scan place can be shown in Google Maps after a click on the flag symbol (refer concerning the scan coordinates to the FAQ).

E-Mail (1)

The barcodes selected in the list can be sent by eMail. The eMail contains not only an overview of the barcode data but also ...

E-Mail (2)

... a TXT file of the scanned barcode data.

WebScan

Using the new, astonishing WebScan feature of iCody, you are able to scan values into the fields of any website - directly within iCody. WebScan even works with HTTPS connections or when login data are required.

WebScan (2)

WebScan is very powerful - and can be well-parametrised. It depends on how you'd like WebScan to behave: Shall the first form field be activated when a website is loaded, shall a "Tab" (refer to the Delimiter feature) automatically by converted to a field change or shall a "Return" submit the form ...?

Key input

iCody 2.0 etends the built-in barcode scanner by a keyboard which can be activated if needed. So you are able to enter e.g. quantities directly before or after a barcode scan. They are transmitted directly and identically to the barcode transmission and even the chosen delimiters (e.g. Return or Tab) are attached.

Connection type

In iCody, you can chose between three different connection types for instant delivery of scanned barcodes:

PIN protection

Protect the settings pane with a custom PIN to avoid access from any unauthorized user.

WebScan Settings

WebScan is a mighty feature of iCody, and it can be set-up in a very detailed way, including the possibility to enable the new "Kiosk mode" which hides e.g. the controls and the URL and disables the automatic link highlighting.
